Finally a Cheque from Clickbank……. thank You

Well, for those who have been following along, at the end of January I was having a moan about how, no matter how I’d tried in the past I couldn’t manage to get paid by clickbank before thier fees ate up all my money, I was struggling with the CDR, as explained in a previous post.

I tried again in vain to resurect a dormant account all through February and March. Finally April’s hard work has paid off and sitting right in front of me now is a cheque from ClickBank. So thank You Clickbank. It’s not a Million Dollars, it’s just over a couple of hundred actually, but it is proof that finally if you work at it you can achieve it and that first cheque will arrive. Now, my next problem is going to get some one at the bank to realise it is real and allow me to pay it into my business account. That’s probably going to be more hard work than it was to finally hit the $200 target.

Now, why in the world would I have set the payout figure to be $200! Simple really, I’m in the UK and it’s no use having a $20 cheque = £13.42 (at todays exchange rate) when the bank is going to charge me £10 just for paying it in. Go Figure!.

I’m already stacking the dollars in the Clickbank account for the next payment but I’ve set the payout lower this time at $100 so that I can quickly get 3 cheque payments completed and then be eligible for their direct payment, and I won’t have to convince some one at the bank that “Yes, It is a real cheque and Yes it is in Dollars!” – I’m so looking forward to that……. ah well.

So how, did I do it? One of the problems I had was a serious one, although affiliate sales were comming in, they were mainly PayPal subscriptions, which ofcourse don’t count towards the CDR. Go on then, what’s CDR you ask………

Customer Distribution Requirement

ClickBank accounts cannot be used for the sole purpose of collecting rebates or otherwise extending credit to yourself or others. In compliance with US law, ClickBank will withhold payment of any account balance until the following criteria is met:

  • Sales made with 5 or more different credit card numbers and
  • Sales made with two different payment methods (either Visa, MasterCard, or PayPal). Note: PayPal purchases do not count toward the minimum 5 different credit card numbers.

This is how I did it –

1. Get some subscription payments comming, it’s a regular once a month income and it stops the dormant account fees. Look for some good       subscription products in the Marketplace, if they are complimentary to your sites, promote them. Don’t just promote rubbish though, make sure what you are recommending is good value for money for your customers.

2. I Promoted more products from the Clickbank Marketplace, one that I know is exceptional and some, well to be honest, I don’t know what they are because they are chosen at random by Clickbank themselves. What! yep, that’s right, they’ve got some nice little tools now that you can play with. You can make your own ads, choosing your own keywords, and then just copy and paste the javascript onto your web site. The ads are randomly shown to your site visitors.

On a final note, it wouldn’t have taken as long to reach the $200 mark if I had also had a product for sale in the marketplace, but I wanted this particular account to make it just on affiliate sales only. AND IT HAS.

Cheers guys, just goes to show, when you set your mind on something, you can make it happen.
