Cracking the ClickBank Code

Clickbank ? and why do we need to crack the code?

Here is their official description

ClickBank is the online retail outlet for 10,000 digital product publishers and their 100,000 active affiliates. We’ve paid our clients on time, every time, for 10 years. Over $1 billion thus far. Now with weekly payouts!

Nice statement, but to be honest – I’ve never been paid by Clickbank, I’ve sold lots of things over the years through Clickbank, and I’ve earnt some commissions too, but the most frustrating thing ever is that Clickbank has never paid me at any time over the last 10 years!  They have however always managed to pay themselves out of the money from my account. How Frustrating!

Here’s the scenario, you find a great product you want to promote and the vendor only uses Clickbank. But you know it’s a great product and you decide to promote it. You roll your sleeves up and get to work.

You invest in a new domain name and new hosting space to promote the product. You  put up your site, do the work reviewing a product, cloak your links, track your links, and Bam! your promotion makes a sale. Great! you can see the dollar signs rolling in front of your eyes.  But the bad news is you won’t get that money ever if you don’t sell more products through their system. Lots of affiliates have fallen for this, because if you are not making sales, Clickbank starts charging you, and they take the money out of your commissions. And there’s not a lot you can do about that. Here is how they work it……..

Dormant Accounts

Accounts with a positive balance but no earnings for an extended period of time are considered dormant. Dormant accounts are subject to a charge of $1 per pay period after 90 days of inactivity, $5 per pay period after 180 days of inactivity, and $15 per pay period after 365 days of inactivity.

Nothing you or I can do about that one, we have to agree to the dormant account rule when we sign up.

The code you really need to crack is this one…………. the dreaded CDR and remember the default balance is $100 unless you lower it.

Customer Distribution Requirement

ClickBank accounts cannot be used for the sole purpose of collecting rebates or otherwise extending credit to yourself or others. In compliance with US law, ClickBank will withhold payment of any account balance until the following criteria is met:

  • Sales made with 5 or more different credit card numbers and
  • Sales made with two different payment methods (either Visa, MasterCard, or PayPal). Note: PayPal purchases do not count toward the minimum 5 different credit card numbers.

So in essence, you have to have made one sale from a customer who uses paypal as the payment processor, incidentally it doesn’t matter if the customer used a card to pay for the product, it just gets logged as a paypal payment. And you need to have FIVE sales from Different customers who have used their card through the Clickbank payment system.  Then after that has been achieved IF you have $100 in commissions total due, you will get paid as long as it’s not taken you forever and they haven’t started charging you those deductions!

Now imagine how frustrating this scenario could be Clickbank now offers recurring billing, great, you promote a product that has recurring billing for 12 months, guaranteed 12 commission payments if the person who signed up stays with the course. Here’s the downside, those 12 payments still only count as one sale with one card. Argh! unless you manage another 4 and a paypal sale, you will never see that money EVER!

Just how do we crack this code?

Until yesterday, I thought it was a closed case, however on speaking with someone who really is a true Clickbank Guru, I now have the answer. Basically, he told me, stop whinging and do something about it! But how?  Well, here’s how……..

There’s a new Ebook I have just come across which I predict will become very popular. It solves this problem which causes most newbies to quit affiliate marketing with ClickBank.  ClickBank for Newbies, written by Harvey Segal (Mr ClickBank) is a quick easy read, written without hype.

And the cost of this book ?   It’s free ! no sign up, you don’t even have to part with your email address.

And it ends with an amazing idea for making you money from the book itself.  This report is ideal for beginner and veterans alike, stop struggling to get paid, Crack that ClickBank Code now.
