The Good, The Bad and the UGLY of Internet Marketing – Post 1- The Ugly.

Some of you (especially Phil!) will notice that it has been a long time since I posted to this blog. There are of course lots of reasons as to why I have been neglecting this blog, and I think the title “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!” describes my situation very well.

The UGLY

We’ll start with the UGLY BUGS first just to get them out of the way.  I got ensnared – yes, even me with my level of experience fell for one of those expensive continuity trap schemes. In December of last year I signed up for the “AX Gold Software Club, and it wasn’t cheap. The subscription payment was Total Billed Monthly: 32.25 ( GBP ) ( 49.97 USD ) I sort of justified this as the products would be good, and I only needed to make one sale each month for the subscription to pay for itself. In total I paid for 4 months so the investment was £141.00 (GPB) (199.88 USD).

The main clincher was a software program that I wanted to use, the cost of this to purchase outright was $197.00 – I now find, that because I have cancelled my membership, the software has been disabled by them and I can’t use it unless I purchase it.

In hindsight I would have been better off just purchasing this software as it is clearly impossible to sell their products as the competition is huge, there are up to 499 other people (members) trying to sell the same products.

So why did I cancel? One of the benefits was PLR now this months (April 2011) product provided as PLR was something called “Outsourcing Explosion” – I know for a certain fact that this product is at least 18 months old. I really didn’t see the benefit of seriously outdated PLR being given as a bonus. If you are using PLR  you need it to be fresh and up to date not 18 months old.

== On a side note==

If you want Fresher than Fresh PLR I suggest you check out fellow marketer Daniel Flowers First PLR – you seriously can’t get any fresher than that. He produces a unique package once a month and it’s always bang up to date. Check out Dans First PLR. and it’s only $97 for a full years subscription.

== Back on Topic==

So in essence, watch out for these continuity membership sites, check out what you are getting, all I got was a resellers licence that I had to pay for month in and month out. My thoughts are that if you have to continually pay in order to use their software, stay Well AWAY!

Since I cancelled my subscription (2 checkout! – if you can’t find your details to cancel, use the support desk, send them the info and they will cancel the sub for you all you need is to raise a ticket, validate your email address, send them the receipt info and they will cancel it for you. I’d suggest you allow at least a week though !) AX GOLD Software Club has now become “WP Gold Club” This new membership apparently replaces their  Niche Gold Club (all existing Niche Gold Club members have been upgraded) <- not me I’m no longer a member. What do you get in WP Gold Club?  Same old. Same Old with a little bit of WordPress training added in. YAWN!
